Terms of carriageIn force from 1 January 2026. These terms govern every shipment Harbor arranges unless a signed agreement says otherwise.## 1. What Harbor is Harbor Freight Ltd. is a licensed freight broker. We arrange carriage; we do not perform it. Every load moves on a carrier we have contracted, and that carrier's own liability terms apply to the goods in transit. ## 2. Quotes A quote is valid for **seven days** and assumes the load as described. Weight, dimensions, accessorial requirements and the pickup window are all part of that description. If what is on the dock differs from what was quoted, we will re-price before the truck leaves and tell you why. ## 3. Booking and cancellation A booking is confirmed when it appears in your portal with a reference number. Cancelling before dispatch costs nothing. Cancelling after a truck has been dispatched to the pickup is charged at the greater of $150 or 25% of the quoted rate, because that vehicle has already been taken out of service for you. ## 4. Liability Our liability for loss or damage is limited to **$4.41 per kilogram** of the affected goods, the standard limit under the applicable provincial regulation, unless a higher declared value is agreed in writing before pickup and the corresponding premium is paid. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — a missed production run, a cancelled order, a penalty in your own contract — in any circumstance. ## 5. Claims Damage or shortage must be noted on the proof of delivery **at the time of delivery**. A claim must reach us in writing within thirty days of delivery, and within nine months for concealed damage. We will open the claim with the carrier and keep you informed until it is settled or refused. ## 6. Payment Invoices are due thirty days from issue. Overdue amounts carry interest at 1.5% per month. Where an account is on hold, we will say so before you book rather than after. ## 7. Dangerous goods Dangerous goods must be declared at booking with their UN number, class and packing group. Undeclared dangerous goods are the shipper's liability in full, including any fine, clean-up cost or delay they cause. ## 8. Temperature-controlled freight Where a temperature range is agreed, pulp temperatures are recorded at pickup and delivery. A load presented outside its range at pickup will be refused, and we will call you rather than carry it and argue later. ## 9.
